Caerffili Town Mayor Councillor Mike Prew has announced his charity for the year.

Speaking after the monthly Town Council meeting at the Twyn Community Centre Mike said:

“I am pleased to announce that my charity this year will be AP Cymru. AP stands for Autism Puzzles and was founded by parents with first hand experience of the challenges presented by neurodivergent  children.”

Deputy Mayor David Roberts added:

“The commitment of the charity in providing information, organising workshops and just providing a safe place is second to none.”

Mike added:

“The Town Council is proud of the support it has given to local charities over the years raising thousands of pounds, and I will be doing my best to raise as much as we can for AP Cymru”

Mel Davies, Fundraising Officer said:

“AP Cymru is a small, independent, Welsh self funded charity that supports hundreds of neurodivergent children, young people and their families. We are excited to work with the Mayor and other Town Councillors to continue neurodiversity awareness and acceptance. The fundraising work will help us sustain our work programme.”
