Large crowds attend the Christmas Lights switch on at the Twyn, Caerphilly town centre on 18 November. Entertainment was provided by local school choirs from Twyn, Plasyfelin, Ysgol Gymraeg, and Cwrt Rawlin, the Caerphilly County Wind Band, Caerphilly Community Chorus and Only Boys Aloud. As the excitement built up Santa arrived and turned on the Christmas Lights. The Town Mayor, Mike Prew, commented “What a fantastic evening which showcased our local talent, entertained the crowd, and lifted spirits during difficult economic times. I was pleased this event was returning after a two year absence due to the pandemic and was so enthusiastically supported by those attending”
