Visitors can wander through the many stalls from the top of Cardiff Road to Twyn car park, taking in the spectacular view of the magnificent 13th Century Caerphilly Castle that is located at the heart of the town. The town centre will be transformed into a marketplace bursting with an array of culinary delights.
A programme of cookery demonstrations is planned throughout the day and the event joins with the established monthly markets – the Artisan Market at the Twyn Community Centre, Castle Court shopping Centre’s Food and Craft Market and The Cenotaph’s Craft Fair. In all there will be around 130 high quality food, drink and craft traders. In addition the town centre has a wide selection of independent stores and eating out venues.
Street entertainers will be roaming around the festival and there will be a selection of children’s funfair rides.
The Town Council has provided sponsorship of £2250 towards the event.
The event will be located on Cardiff Road, Twyn Road, Castle Street (northbound carriageway only) and Twyn car park. There will be a road closure in place from 9pm on Friday 6th May until 9pm on Saturday 7th May.
