Event Cancelled in 2020

In view of the Coronavirus Regulations (July 2020) that make large scale gatherings in Wales unlawful and having regard to the advance planning required the Town Council has decided to cancel this year’s event.

The Caerphilly Fireworks Display is an aerial spectacular against the backdrop of Caerphilly Castle. The display will start at 7.00pm and last around 25 minutes. The best viewing areas are at Crescent Road and Dafydd Williams Park. Kiddies rides and refreshments will be located on Crescent Road. This a free event but there will be a street collection for the Mayor’s charities.

In the interests of safety sparklers are banned at this event.

Traffic Management

Crescent Road will be closed to traffic from 5.00pm to 9.00pm. There will be no access from Nantgarw Road and no parking will be allowed in this area. The access to the Bryncenydd estate will also be closed but vehicles with resident parking passes will still have access. There will be temporary parking at YGG Caerffili, Pontygwindy Road. There will be traffic management on Caerphilly Mountain and no parking on the highway.

It is a popular event attracting a large crowd. Expect traffic congestion in the town centre in the lead up to the event and when vehicles are leaving after the event.
